IMAGE QUALITY GUIDELINES
Follow these guidelines to help ensure the best print possible.
PHOTO FILE TYPES:
File Formats or put another way File Types (this would be the the way it is labeled within Windows Explorer in the "Type" Column once you selected "Details" under the VIEW menu):
1. JPEG: JPG or JPEG 2. WINDOWS BITMAP: BMP 3. TIFF: TIF or TIFF (perferred type)
If you are sending JPG or JPEG images the file size should be no less then 100-150K for mugs or other 4 inch print size. Full coverage shirts or other larger prints your file size should no less then 400K. Again, the larger the uploaded file size, the better.
FILE SIZE LIMITATION ON UPLOAD:
However, while bigger is better, we do have a limitation of any one uploaded file set to 9 MB. If you file is larger than that and won't ZIP down any smaller, then you will need to burn it to a CD or DVD and mail it into us. Find our mailing address under the CONTACT US menu selection.
ARTWORK or GRAPHIC FILE TYPES:
ANY of the above file formats or types are acceptable.
Note: Adobe PDF or WORD DOC files are not acceptable in sending in "artwork" or "graphic" files. We would rather see you use a screen shot program like HyperSnap and send it in a JPG or BMP file format. If possible it would be great if the artwork were in a CorelDRAW file format (CDR).
Further, if you are working with Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe llustrator, Corel PhotoPaint or Corel Draw, it's best to archive your work using a "Zip" utility and send your archived work in it's native format.
FILES FROM A CAMERA OR A SCANNER:
1. From a Camera: Please have your digital camera set at "Best" or "High" resolution when taking the shot. 2. From a Scanner: If you are scanning your photos or artwork, please scan at no less that 150 dpi. If at all possible scan at 300 dpi or better.
Rule of Thumb: The larger the file the better. It is always easier to take away than add to.
FONTS:
If your design uses any text or fonts, it is best to generate a low resolution JPG that we will use as placement reference and your high resolution layout (artwork, graphic or picture) without your text. You will need to provide your font information or actual font file if you have a specific font you wish to use.
Otherwise we will do a close match to your reference JPG copy. In CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator, you can convert your fonts to curves as an alternative to sending us your font file.
DON'T HAVE A DIGITAL PICTURE OR AVAILABLE SCANNER:
1. FEDX/Kinkos is a great place to get access to a scanner. Often a local printer or reprographics shop will have a scanner service available. We would suggest to check out the services of Thomas Reprographics if you live in one of the cities they serve.
2. Okay no scanning service available and I still want to use the photo that is on paper. What do I do? Mail it to us and we will scan the photo for you. Now of course you will need to give us some detailed directions in the product comment field on the upload form. WSC will scan your photo for no additional charge. Of course if you want us to transfer the photo to a CD and send it back to you with your order, then there is a nominal charge for doing that. It is selected at the time of place your order in our shopping cart or on the upload form.
These are guidelines only. Nothing is sealed in concrete. We will "try" to as flexible as possible to help you complete your project. Please refer and review the Store Policies before completing your order.
