First we would suggest to formulate your idea around an event, happening, function, etc. No matter whether it is for business, organization, family or personal.

Next is to center in on the focus of this. Is there a person or group at its center focal point?

Now you need to add in the the main design element. Is there a picture(s) associated with this focal point? Or is there some art or graphics that is related? Or is a little of both?

Add to the pictures, art and or graphics lettering. If there a message that needs to be communicated? Often a picture or the art is all that is needed. That element alone is enough to convey the thought or message you want to communicate. But sometimes that is not enough. So at those times sit down with pen an paper and let your imagination go. Remember it is all on the drawing board and no one is going to grade you ... yet! (Note: It surely goes without saying but in this day and age it must be said. Choose now the font style size and color that you want to use to help communicate this message if you have chosen to associate one with your picture, art or graphic. That is of course, if you want any sort of lettering on the right side of, left side of, on top of, on bottom of, or somewhere on the picture itself. Remember that the font style, size and color will definitely play a role is influencing what you are communicating. So play with this part and try on several fonts to see what fits for you. For a practical reason JustMakeItPersonal.COM has a finite number of fonts to choose from during the on-line order process. But we are not locked into these fonts. Decision time. You now need to decide what blank product do I want to unleash all of this creativity upon. Of course there is a small (maybe) gotcha in this step. What if your creativity was way too big for the target blank product you decided on? Well this step is not rocket science. Something has to give. Either your creativity needs to be paired down or the blank product needs to get bigger. This is a finite thing and therefore one or the other of these has to happen. Unless it fits the occasion or desired affect, you usually do not want to crowd everything into a design or make it too busy that it loses its message and thus your intended effect.

A word about blank products. We use a printing process whereby the inks used actually transfer into a gaseous state and merge, blend, bond into the physical material of the targeted blank product’s surface. Therefore once finished you will not be able to “feel” the printing as with other printing processes. Other printing process layer the ink on top of the surface of whatever it is printing on. This allows for chipping, scratching and in some cases peeling of the printing or time or through some sort of accident. In order to do this to our printing once processed, you would have to literally destroy the item in order to deface the printing.
